Seriously, snarling lions last night , squabbling over food
Really close and really loud !! Occurred several times during the night. I didn’t feel threatened, but I’ll admit it was unnerving.
As is customary, I awakened to a cool morning and increasing bird song before dawn.. At breakfast, Leslie conveyed to us that last night 2 large male lions sought sanctuary from the rain under the tent overhangs on his & Josh’s & my tent. Yikes!
I must confess, I have never been much of a birder until coming to Africa. It isn't that I didn't like them, but here like all the other unusual & beautiful species that exist, the birds are really something special. You have seen a few in previous. posts. Here are a few more.

The birds here are spectacular & photographing them can be a challenge but it is super rewarding!
