With the amount of rain this year everything is curtailed by about a month, so where the animals are residing today is quite different than just a year ago
“All creatures great and small”
Today had a different focus. After the significant encounters of recent days, now that we are at a new camp with a landscape that is much more savannah-like, what we will see has changed as well. There are fewer sightings and smaller groups because at this moment we are ahead of the migration that we saw at our prior camp. This is caused by the unexpected and unseasonable prolongation of the rains.
Great creatures today were elephants, hippos, giraffes & a leopard at the very end of the day in the waning light unbelievably spotted by our guide Bernard.
Our small creatures were a myriad of birds, warthogs , gazelles impala & the tiniest antelope- the Dik dik, two species of mongoose- dwarf & banded.
